Terms and conditions

GAJA is SORPA´s biogas- and composting plant where pre-sorted organic household waste is processed and recycled into compost and biogas.

Organic waste cannot be delivered directly to GAJA. Organic waste must first go through the pre-processing facility in the receiving plant in Gufunes. An exception to this is organic pumpable household waste that meets the conditions of receipt for pumpable bio-waste.

Customers pay for waste according to weight (ISK/kg) according to the price list.

Price list

A special surcharge is added, 30% of the fee for a load or a minimum of ISK 47590,00, if the waste and/or delivery is not in accordance with acceptance requirements.

Waste is accepted in exchange for cash payment or on presentation of a business card. The processing fee at the landfill site at Álfsnes is a minimum of ISK 3750,00 including VAT.

Service process

1. On arrival to the SORPA landfill site, an examination is made of the weight where the employee of the landfill site greets the customer.

2. The customer is under obligation to provide information about the nature and origin of the waste.3.

3. The SORPA employee escorts the customer to the dumping site and verifies the sorting.

4. On the way out, the weight is reviewed and the procedure completed.
