This category consists of slaughter waste and animal remains in category 2 according to Regulation No. 674/2017. This applies e.g. to slaughter waste that shows signs of serious disease, such as salmonella, or can be infectious. Loads may not contain anything else.
Loads are only accepted on prior consultation with the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority and on having received the permission of the landfill site manager or Managing Director of SORPA.
Category 1 slaughter waste is not accepted.

What happens to the material?
The material is buried in a separate slot and covered immediately at the SORPA landfill at Álfsnes.

It is also possible to deliver the material for incineration to the receiving and incineration station of Kalka in Helguvík, Reykjanesbær. See kalka.is.
