Cable drums made of wood that need processing before being shredded, e.g. because of larger metal items that must be removed.
What happens to the material?
Drums are taken apart in the receiving and sorting plant of SORPA in Gufunes and larger metal parts, such as rods, removed. The material is then shredded and re-used in the same manner as other wood that is not painted or plastic coated. Metals are sent to recycling.
