- Clippings

- Plant clippings
- Plant waste
- Potted flowers
- Vegetables
- Weed
What happens to the material?
The material is either used as an odour-preventive layer (bio-filter) at the SORPA landfill site at Álfsnes or is left to decompose and then shredded and sieved to use as a soil supplement.
Home soil production from organic waste provides excellent compost for the garden for those who have the facilities to do so. This maintains nutrients within nature’s cycle as well as reduces the transport of waste materials and thereby negative environmental effects.
