Waste that is infested with common furniture beetles or other similar pests. Items must be securely wrapped in plastic to minimise the risk of the infestation spreading.
The site manager of the landfill must be informed in advance about the load, in order to prepare for its delivery and ensure the availability of an excavator.

What happens to the material?
The material is covered immediately at the SORPA landfill at Álfsnes.
The material can also be handed in to recognised receivers of hazardous waste. Further information can be found on the website of the Environment Agency of Iceland, ust.is, or by phoning the Agency. In addition, it is possible to deliver the material for incineration to the receiving and incineration station of Kalka in Helguvík, Reykjanesbær. See kalka.is.
