What happens to the material?
Mixed household waste is passed through the GAJA pre-processing line at the receiving and sorting plant. There, bags are opened and the material is sent through magnetic separators, sieves and wind shifters. The material that is sieved is primarily the organic part of the waste and is sent to GAJA for biogas production and composting.
